The station upgrades included; New variable frequency drives on most pumps, complete replacement of mechanical systems, and upgraded ventilation allowing for improved performance and capacity. A new control system that enables matching of supply to system loads without throttling the pumps. Using new variable frequency drives on the pumps, the revised control greatly improved the station’s operating efficiency. The station’s capacity was increased by 1,200 L/s to 3,500 L/s for a service population of 125,000.
