We are currently accepting applications for full-time Project Managers & Estimators at Absolute Industrial Mechanical Ltd., in Maple Ridge, BC.

Compensation: Compensation based on experience

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in mechanical engineering
• Minimum of eight years of experience in the construction industry
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Accubid)
• Familiarity with reading blueprints & detailed quantity take-offs and administering contracts
• Must be able to provide Driving Abstract
• Must be willing to travel to job sites throughout British Columbia

Responsibilities:

• Prepare mechanical and piping estimations from process flow sheets and instrumentation diagrams
• Prepare labour hour calculations, crew durations, and quantity take-offs for costs
• Tender budgetary pricing
• Review safety requirements, soliciting suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare quantity surveys and preliminary construction schedules
• Assist with inputs for project scope change estimates
• Participate in pricing of quantities
• Attend meetings (pre-tender, bid strategy, pricing reviews, subcontractor scope reviews, turn-over meetings to Operations)
• Assist on Bid Day with the solicitation of subcontractors/suppliers and bid analysis
• Assist the Senior Project Manager, Mechanical to deliver bids before deadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of subcontractor/supplier bid pricing
• Develop relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing
• Interpret project drawings and specifications
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation
• Performing customer follow-up of proposals
